About The Aspiring Mompreneurs

If you are reading this post, chances are you are a mom and small business owner too. I decided to start a group for fellow moms in the same boat as me. As mompreneurs, it is so easy to get overwhelmed and quickly discouraged. I wanted to create a safe, friendly place where moms who are taking business slowly, could get to know one another, ask advice about the struggles of being a mom & business owner, and also learn from each other along the way!

The group is slow paced to go along with the minimal free time we have. We have only two formal discussion days in the group. However, any member should feel free to ask questions, share valuable info, or just ask for someone to lend an ear if she needs it. It’s a place for support and encouragement, but the main point is, we are taking business slowly because we have to. We have kids to take care of after all!

When I started my business almost a year ago, I started joining small business owner groups and clubs and became quickly overwhelmed. There is such a push from some groups to get things done, attend conferences, engage in posts frequently, share what you have been working on etc… While this is encouraging and appreciated, it can come on pretty strong for a newbie who is just getting her feet wet. It makes it difficult to see how you’ll ever make it when you are surrounded by established small business owners. Not to mention, there are weeks where I don’t get work done at all! It’s terrible, I know, but my family comes first and that will not change. That is why I have built my business with a mindset of only taking on the projects I can, understanding I’ll stay very small for a long time, and I am ok with that!!

I am a firm believer in “slow and steady wins the race” we can all do this! We can take our time and build our businesses slowly, but with a steady foundation. We just need the right type of encouragement and support. If this sounds like you, I’d love for you to check out The Aspiring Mompreneurs Facebook group. The more the merrier.

If Facebook groups aren’t for you, feel free to follow my journey! I’ve created a new blog category called The Aspiring Mompreneur where I will blog about my trials and tribulations as a mompreneur. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to put a hot pink dress on a stuffed chihuahua 😉

Hope to see you in the group!
